We are talking to suppliers and designers all the time. Up to now we have selected three to work with because we feel totally confident about what they are saying and what they are doing. We want to grow with these fashion houses and will also add more as they come along and convince us that they can meet the tooa standard in terms of style and ethics.
When the guys from FROZEN RIVER walked into our office we couldn’t believe our luck. Their entire team has the same simple obsession as us; real accessible style without any ethical compromises. We have been impressed by their ethos and values and by the fact that every single factory they use has been visited personally by their team again and again. Frozen River source all their clothing in the EU which means that there is no ozone-destroying air freight. It also means that they have a clear and auditable supply line that they can keep in constant contact with. We love what they are doing.
Frozen River understand that sustainability and style can go hand in hand. They have even pushed the boat out and got themselves hooked up with a fancy French designer for their Butterfly range of tops. You will love these Parisienne styles.
Frozen River are looking at a range of ethical fabrics and we now have some of their Bamboo tops. We love the woody aroma that comes up when you hand-wash these. You have to try that at least once girls!
We were looking for some stylish tee-shirts with a twist in nice organic fabrics. When we met Tomo from ONAGONO we got a lot more. Everything we get from Tomo is 100% FairTrade certified. The tees are made in a factory in India staffed by nuns (believe it – it’s true!) and with a real socially sustainable outlook. We think you will love our Onagono tees.
We really want to work with ZEME. We like what they are doing in India and we came across them on our travels. As yet, they have no outlets in the UK so we will be their first. We are starting small with their lovely simple summer vest. If you like it we will go back for more styles. Everything they make is 100% organic and that’s what we like to see.
