tooa – The ABC’s:-
A is for Adults Only!
No children will ever be involved in making anything that we sell at tooa.
B is for Bio-Sustainability!
tooa stock only items that are made in organic or sustainable fabrics.
C is for Conscience!
tooa suppliers are required to prove to us that all their dyes and techniques are environmentally and socially sound.
We insist that everything in tooa meets the Oeko-tex standard. What our suppliers do to go beyond that is up to them. As a baseline though, if you want to sell in tooa you have to sign up to the ABC’s of tooa above and then prove to us that you meet “the Standard”. Potentially harmful techniques and ingredients banned and monitored under the Oeko-tex Standard 100 include:-
- Specifically banned AZO dyes
- Carcinogenic and allergy inducing dyes
- Formaldehyde
- Pesticides
- Chlorinated Phenols
- Chloro-orgainc benzenes and toluenes
- Extractable heavy metals
- pH value
- Emission of Volatile components
- Odour
- Organotin compounds (TBT) and (DBT)
